Hi, I’m Mitch — and I want you to know that my journey to becoming a counsellor and hypnotherapist was not simply an academic one. It was deeply personal.
My path began when I sought counselling myself for postnatal depression. That experience was transformative — not just in terms of my own healing, but in awakening a profound desire to be there for others during their most vulnerable moments. I know what it feels like to struggle, to feel lost, and to wonder if things will ever feel better. That lived experience sits at the heart of everything I do.
I have also navigated my own journey with anxiety, and I understand firsthand just how isolating and overwhelming it can feel. It is partly this understanding that allows me to meet you where you are — without judgement, and with genuine empathy.
I have been practising as a counsellor for eight years, and more recently I have added hypnotherapy to my practice. My decision to train in hypnotherapy came from recognising that not everyone finds it helpful to spend long periods of time talking through their difficulties — and that is completely valid. Having experienced the benefits of hypnotherapy personally, using it to work through my own challenges, I was struck by its power to create real, lasting change. I wanted to be able to offer that to my clients too.
I specialise in bereavement support, holding space for those who are navigating the painful and often complex journey of loss — whenever that may be, and whatever form it takes.
